| Synopsis:
On a cold night in a remote cabin, Professor John Oldman (David Lee Smith of CSI: Miami) gathers his most trusted colleagues for an extraordinary announcement: He is an immortal who has migrated through 140 centuries of evolution and must now move on. Is Oldman truly Cro-Magnon or simply insane? Now one man will force these scientists and scholars to confront their own notions of history, religion and humanity, all leading to a final revelation that may shatter their world forever. John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise), William Katt (The Greatest American Hero), Ellen Crawford (ER) and Tony Todd (Candyman) co-star in this provocative final work by Jerome Bixby, renowned as one of the greatest science-fiction authors of all time. |

Books don't necessarily translate well into movies January 1, 2009 Cory D. Wagner (Matthews, NC United States) I really liked the concept. It's why I rented the movie. But the movie itself was pretty rotten. As others have said, the production value was bottom-of-the-barrel, and the acting wasn't that great either. I normally enjoy watching John Billingsley. However, in this movie, he really annoyed me. That's not entirely the actors' fault, though. I think the problem was the attempt to simply take a book and put it on screen with no adjustment for the medium. This movie is literally just a bunch of people sitting around in a cabin. They are talking. That's the action. If I were reading the dialog rather than suffering through watching it, I probably would have enjoyed the heck out of it. I was expecting something like Highlander--at least in terms of some period flashbacks. I kept waiting. But all I got was talk.
Thought Provoking December 8, 2008 Mishkin (New York) I enjoyed watching this movie very much. It accomplishes a rare fit of being able to keep one captivated through the length of the film even though it runs practically on one scene. It is thought provoking, challenging without being offensive, intellectually stimulating and quiet entertaining. It is one of those movies you'll carry in the back of your mind for a long time after watching.
Sci-Fi Fan Says: 'Don't Waste your Money or Time!" October 18, 2008 michael robinson Seriously, I LOVE Science Fiction. This however, contains horrible acting with a horrible plot. Yes, it could be interesting if it had flashbacks included with the storytelling, but it simply has dialogue. The worst part is the fact that the writer tried to suggest the Swoon Theory could be true! Jesus faking his death? Besides asphyxiating He was STABBED! This theory has been disproved many years ago and has to be discredited every decade or so because people aren't good historians. This movie insulted my intelligence. If you have any understanding of a Roman crucifixion you will be insulted that anyone could try to suggest someone could survive it. So, this movie LOOKS interesting and the concept IS interesting, but don't be fooled--IT'S NOT REAL! Weird that people enjoyed this...
Low Budget October 12, 2008 David A. Beyer (La Crosse, WI United States) Very interesting ideas explored in the movie, but difficult to get past the very low budget production. Grainy and jumpy video makes it look less professional then most current TV shows. Not worth the 2.99. Maybe worth a buck.
Fantastic! Leaves you craving more. October 9, 2008 Grace King (Dennis, MA) I was a little skeptical about a dialogue-only story, but it was like sitting around a campfire, being drawn in by the story until that's all there is.
