Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Product Weakly Showcased by Amazon   January 2, 2009
Michael Watson (Anchorage, AK)
I am feeling significant empathy regarding James L. Jahnke's review: the pity is that the grading of the product suffered as a result of reviewer having no way I can see of marking Amazon down when Amazon's weak execution mars the buying experience here of a quality product.

In background, I have owned as many as three Magnum drills, also a few Sawzalls, a Milwaukee grinder, etc., prior to downsizing and then having been relieved of my power tools by some petty thief, and as such am back on the market for tools, with fond recollections of Milwaukee quality.

With my now shopping here at Amazon to fill the bill, it is indeed disappointing to me to see that the listings for the Milwaukee tools with the Quik-Lok cords are spotty in specifying which cord goes with which tool.

In my presently considering the suitability of buying 20 foot Quik-Lok cord(s) to limit the likelihood of extension cord connection snagging in the immediate vicinity of the work area, I have discovered that there are *three* types of Quik-Lok cords, each of which in its turn is available in two different sizes:

1) 5-15P NEMA (3-wire);
2) 1-15P NEMA (2-wire); and
3) L5-20P NEMA (3-wire with twist-lock plug).

In the process of learning the above, I had read and been confused by the 2005 review here where Philip Venard stated, "I am told that it fits all other corded Milwaukee power tools interchangeably," and I as such wonder if reviewer James L. Jahnke's confusion at least in part was rooted in said piece of misinformation.

As convenient as it would be if all Milwaukee Quik-Loc hardware were compatible, the reality is just not so!

Perhaps Amazon could clarify things by:

1) Specifying which particular type of Quik-Lok cord each particular Quik-Lok-equipped tool does take; and
2) Providing a list of Milwaukee tool model numbers that are compatible with each Quik-Lok cord item.

Quibbles with Amazon aside, the Milwaukee Quik-Lok cords are of the highest quality and utility: in twisting the (5-15P NEMA 3-wire) Quik-Log plug into my Hole Shooter prior to getting to work, I always had strong confidence that problems with power getting to the job at hand were going to be the least of my concerns.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect OEM replacement for older drill   September 30, 2008
Deal Seeker (Texas)
I've had my Milwaukee Hole Shooter drill since about 1980 and the cord had totally worn out. This was a "plug and play" twist on replacement. Easy install and great Milwaukee quality. You really need to be sure to order the correct replacement cord which is determined by serial number range. Also some cords are 2 prong and some are 3 prong. Cheap, fast USPS shipping!!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect!!!   November 21, 2007
J. Mohrhardt (Burlington, MI USA)
This was to replace a bad cord on a Milwaukee Magnum Drill. All I can say is I just disconnected the original cord and plugged the new cord into the drill and it was as good as new. This cord was an exact fit. Best of all the repair was less the 20 bucks, well worth it!!!

1 out of 5 stars Ordered wrong item   June 27, 2007

This would rate 5 stars if it was the right item. They don't mention that there is more than one type of Milwaukee connection for this sort of plug. Order carefully.

5 out of 5 stars Replacement for a damaged drill cord   August 25, 2005
Philip Venard (Orange County, CA USA)

This is an exact duplicate of the cord which came with my Milwaukee Magnum Hole Shooter corded drill when it was new. It was very convenient to just twist off my badly cut cord and then twist on the new replacement. I am told that it fits all other corded Milwaukee power tools interchangably. Then there is a very solid feel to the connection at the base of the drill handle. I couldn't have chosen a better quality drill than Milwaukee. It is one of the better choices I've made for my shop.
