I was disappointed. Yes, the Kindle fits securely, but folded back this case cannot be held comfortably. It's just too thick and bulky and hurts my hand. I'm sticking to the original black case which I can hold comfortably with one hand with the cover folded back. Also the padding of the original case protects the Kindle better.
I've returned the red leather case. I suggest that you save your money for a true Kindle cover in another color.

Got the red leather case for Christmas and I LOVE it, the way it feels, so soft, and I love how the kindle stays in place now with that feature up on the right hand corner, keeps it from moving, NICE!!!
I love my new cover for my kindle!
Get the red, it's eye-popping beautiful and nice to hold.
Can't go back to the case the kindle came with.
Well worth the money spent.

Other reviewers are right -- this is a nicely designed Kindle cover. That said, I don't use mine. Why? I've had it for more than a month now, and I just can't stand the smell. Leather is badly tanned, maybe? I don't know. But even now, it's there. Not nice trapped inside a bag or sitting on a bedside table.

I used the original cover for six months, continually having the Kindle slip out of the cover and or turning pages "accidentally." Still I perservered because the Kindle itself was so pricey. When my dear friend asked what I wanted for Christmas I mentioned the M-edge, as I doubted if I would buy it for myself. This is the most wonderful cover! The Kindle no longer slips or falls and pages stay put. If I had known how great it was I would have bought it from the start. It would have been great if the Kindle came equipped with the M-edge.

This cover is such an improvement over the one that comes with the kindle. It fits great and doesn't fall off. It also looks great. Add the m-edge book light that is made to fit it and you have a great addition!
