5 out of 5 stars Man can this guy shred!   January 9, 2009
John Crotty (New York, N.Y. USA)
BP is, simply put, the Clapton of country music. This CD is a must for all fans of the guitar rock of The Eagles, The Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughn & Duane Eddy among others.

5 out of 5 stars Play belongs in every players collection   January 8, 2009
Michael Perfater
I knew Brad Paisley was a great picker--but I didn't know what a great PLAYER he is. There is homage to nearly every kind of music on "Play"--from country, to jazz, to rock, to bluegrass. And there is so much of the same paid to other great guitar players. There is a bit of Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray--and I think I even heard a bit of Tommy Emmanuel. Brad's guitar is truly an extension of his body--just read the album liner notes and you will find out that the guitar is everything to Brad. These notes alone are worth the price of the CD. And the playing--impeccable and some great guests to share the spotlight. This CD is a must for every guitar player's collection.

3 out of 5 stars Mostly Instrumental   January 7, 2009
Justin P. Boehm (Madison, WI)
While I would like to say I am one of the biggest Brad Paisley fans, this is not my favorite album. What I love about Brad's music is mostly the lyrics. Don't get me wrong, he is one of the greatest guitar players, too, but I enjoy songs like Alcohol, Better Than This, and Waiting on a Woman. So a great instrumental album, but if you're looking for a good sing along song...not really here.

it is not your typical Brad Paisley music--I was disappointed in that it is mostly instrumental.

5 out of 5 stars Brad Paisley is a genius   January 6, 2009
S. James
Brad Paisley has outdone himself, which is saying a lot after a string of outstanding albums. If you are a fan of guitar songs and instrumental work, this album is a must. A ton of huge names make guest appearances, showing the respect Paisley commands among musicians. Do yourself a favor and buy Play.
