susan sounds off October 2, 2008 Susan E. Howell (York, PA.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Roy Orbison has a voice that is remarkable------but who butchered this song. There are some music that should be let alone. His is one of them. I have loved Orbison's music since I was achild,my uncle listened to him in the 60's. So it was awful to hear what they have done to his music. Let well enough alone. There are somethings that can't be improved on.Roy Orbison is one of them!!!!! So beware what you purchase, make sure you are getting the real thing--- the real "Roy Orbison" The man with a voice that can make your heart skip a beat!
Not the original recording October 1, 2008 Mythopoet (Dallas, TX USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Love Roy Orbison; like the original recording. This is NOT the original recording, and for people familiar with it, this recording will be painfully unlistenable with its uncharacteristically weak vocals and cranked-up synthesizer. (I guess there is a reason that this version is free.) Nothing here but aural pain...move along.
Not even for free September 30, 2008 P. Ray (Lexington, KY USA) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I love Roy Orbison, but this version of "It's Over" is horrible. This song is quintessential Roy Orbison and this version of it is simply atrocious. The keyboards are a travesty and distracting from Roy's soaring vocals. There will never be another Roy Orbison, so why ruin his memory by listening to this terrible rendition of one of his classics?
Not so good September 30, 2008 A. Graham 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
What a mediocre version of a great song by a great artist. Try, instead, the version found on For The Lonely: 18 Greatest Hits.or the version on the black and white video that shows on PBS.
More keyboard September 30, 2008 David Mullins (Nashville) 4 out of 9 found this review helpful
I think the keyboard needs to be turned up a bit. It doesn't over power everything else.
