Product Description Sleek & Trim Kindle DX is as thin as most magazines. Just over a third of an inch in profile, you'll find Kindle DX fits perfectly in your hands. Beautiful Large Display Kindle DX's large display is ideal for a broad range of reading material, including graphic-rich books, PDFs, newspapers, magazines, and blogs. Kindle DX's display is two and a half times the size of the Kindle display. Whether you're reading the latest bestseller or a financial report, text and images are amazingly sharp on the 9.7" screen. Auto-Rotating Screen By simply turning the device, you can immediately see full-width landscape views of maps, graphs, tables and Web pages. Built-In PDF Reader Unload the loose documents from your briefcase or backpack, and put them all on Kindle DX. From neighborhood newsletters to financial statements to case studies and product manuals--you can take them all with you on Kindle DX. Native PDF support allows you to carry and read all of your personal and professional documents on the go. With Amazon's Whispernet service, you can send your documents directly to your Kindle DX and read them anytime, anywhere. 5-Way Controller Kindle DX has an easy-to-use 5-way controller, enabling precise on-screen navigation for selecting text to highlight or looking up words. Simple to Use, No Computer Required Kindle DX is completely wireless and ready to use right out of the box--no setup, no cables, no computer required. Long Battery Life - Read for Days Without Recharging With Kindle DX's long battery life, you can read on a single charge for up to 4 days with wireless on. Turn wireless off and read for up to 2 weeks. Battery life will vary based on wireless usage, such as shopping the Kindle Store and downloading content. In low coverage areas or in 1xRTT only coverage, wireless usage will consume battery power more quickly.

Hip today, you'll be gone tomorrow March 17, 2010 CheGuevara (Cuba) 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
I cannot understand HOW people can buy those BLACK AND WHITE readers, with PHYSICAL KEYBOARDS, when a new generation of COLOR readers with VIRTUAL keyboards is announced in April, with MUCH MORE flexibility, at EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE. As you can see, I'm not quoting any competitor, that's because I have a great respect for Amazon as a book seller. But this time people, you're taking people for fools. Please, take that product away, or cut the price in half.
KF March 17, 2010 KF (Hong Kong) The Pros:
1. The 9" display is the right size for e-Book because that is also the size of many many traditional hard copy books.
2. The thickness is good, just like the thickness of a writing pad
3. Native support of PDF, which is the crucial features that is a MUST in my case, because I want to have my scan document to store in it so that I can read on the road too
4. Long lasting battery for a few weeks without problem in my case.
The Cons:
1. In viewing of PDF, it does not support zooming - too BAD. I am considering giving it up and purchase another alternative e-Book that supports zooming !
2. It does not support PDF Portfolio but this is tolerable at this time
3. It is too slow in flipping from page to page which makes searching IMPOSSIBLE. As a result, it is only good for continual reading.
A perfect companion if you like to read March 17, 2010 F. Lopez (Spain) Kindle DX is light, bright, smart... It holds hundreds of books, which of course are not to be read at the same time, but that means it can be shared with your wife/husband and children when needed. PDF handling is perfect, so I have uploaded all the working instructions for the electronic devices in my home. I live in Spain, and Whispernet works quickly and smoothly, without asking for any intervention or fee. It's perfect, yust what I expected.
Kindle DX March 17, 2010 Sadaila M. Miller (Michigan) Excellent, It has a long battery life, easy navigation. The books download in seconds and ready to read. I am pleased to see free downloads however I'm not happy about the higher prices being put on books. Some of them high enough you might as well get the paperback for your money. Other than the prices on some of the books I am completely satisfied with my Kindle DX.
More Kindle content please March 16, 2010 G. Faulkner (Port Macquarie, Australia) Hi Amazon,
Overall very happy with my KindleDX. Everything works at least as well as advertised.
Delivery was prompt - even in regional Australia. The screen readability is fantastic, in all lighting conditions.
The online book shopping experience is wonderful, which leads to my only criticism.
Almost every new title that has been promoted online by Amazon recently appears NOT to be available for Kindle download.
Does this mean that Kindle owners will be restricted to legacy publications?
Surely new titles should be available in traditional AND KINDLE forms simultaneously, but that appears not currently the case.
