I have been using my Kindle for 4 months now and am extremely satisfied with it. The ability to shop for and download a book directly to the Kindle no matter where I am is fantastic. I have always purchased paperback editions of the books I like so the cost of the books for this device are a bit more but the convenience of a library of books at my fingertips is great, I was running out room for my collection. A bonus is the amount of free books out there and lower prices on old favorites. I have had no problems with the Kindle so far but did have a problem with one book I downloaded. The battery life so far has been good and I keep the wireless function turned off until I want to use it which helps prolong battery life. The Kindle is tougher than reported in some reviews as I dropped mine onto a concrete floor once with no ill effects. It is a great device for its intended purpose, downloading and reading books which is what I purchased it for

I love my new kindle. I love being able to change the size of the font; I love being able to take it & many books with me where ever I go. I live in a rural area and our library is limited as are our bookstores. So, the kindle is an excellent solution.
I have 2 criticisms however. First, I wish that it had back lighting to read easily at night. Secondly, it is inconvenient that it works of AT&T's wireless system. There coverage is terrible. As a matter of fact, when we moved to this area, we had AT&T and had to switch because of the lack of coverage. I doubt that anything can be done about either complaint.

Well worth the money. I love always having a book on hand to read and that I can sample books before I buy them. It is like having a bookstore in your home. Plus Amazon is great, they keep a file of all your books on hand. And if you accidentally purchase the same book, they will let you know before you waste your money on a second copy. Ipad Tablet can try with all of its fancy extras, but I am staying true to my Kindle. I don't need all the bells and whistles. I just need my portable bookstore aka the Kindle.
