Dissapointed November 21, 2008 S. Deyo (Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA) Well, you get what you pay for, I guess. I had heard good things about Skullcandy, and since the prices was right (at our local Target), I thought 'why not'. Well, I must say, they are not worth the $11.99. I will agree with other reviewers that these are very good fitting earbuds, and that really do a good job at isolating you from exterior sound, but the sound produced by the buds themselves was very disappointing. I find them sorely lacking in production of both highs and lows. Mid-range is very good, but that's it. Now, before anyone goes off about how you need to have earbuds seated properly to get good base response, I can assure you, as I have been using earbuds for 10+ years, that I know how to wear them. With that said, these these rank at the bottom of the ones I have owned and tried. I would have rated these one star, but they are very good at isolating sound, just not so good at reproducing it.
Best Bang for the Buck November 18, 2008 Samuel Francis Jr. (Tyler, TX United States) I have researched several earbuds over a two year period and have found this to be the best earbud you can find under $100.00. These earbuds can be used to listen to anything from rap/rock to jazz/classicals. By design the wires will from time to time conduct sounds by way to too much movement during music playback. I would not wear during a workout. Moderate activities to none would be best while using these earbuds. These earbud are sound isolating and those wearing these earbuds should be more aware of any surrounding dangers.
Great earbuds November 17, 2008 C. Turpin (Brooklyn, NY) I just purchased these recently and have been using them for about 2 weeks now. They're really great earbuds that cancel out all outside sounds when listening to music, or if used in conjunction with an iPhone are great to hear somebody on the other end in a very noisy area. I would recommend these earbuds over any others that I have ever owned. They are completely comfortable in your ears unlike apple's earbuds for instance.. This item is a great buy..
Best in its class November 16, 2008 Bailey Fiedorowicz (Harrisburg, NC USA) These earphones are truly the best in its class. These earphones have a stunning appearance. They fit perfectly inside your ear. They also come with three different sets of pads (the clear, squishy piece on the end) to adjust to your ears. The sound quality is incredible. Also, the cord is really long (more than twice as long as the earphones that come with the ipods). These ear phones are truly amazing. Everybody always complains about the loud "thump" the cord makes when you rub against it. This isn't really a problem; It barely does it to me. Anybody looking for top of the line headphones for a cheap price, you've found the right ones.
Mediocre Sound November 16, 2008 Rosey B. (USA) The short of it is that the sound with these buds is mediocre. I will admit Skullcandy buds have some positives such as come in a range of nice colors, are comfortable, and block out much ambient noise so one may set the volume to a lower setting. BUT the negatives cancel out any positives: mediocre sound and the transfer of unwanted sounds such as clothes rubbing against cord, can hear yourself chewing and walking; sounds are muffled and distant, but still annoying. What do I mean by mediocre sound? It is so bad I just do not know how to describe it except to say there seems to be no true highs or lows when listening to my music with these buds. Even the stock ear buds [$10 Sony buds] that came with my mp3 player were much better. With those Sony buds, the sound was clear and one could hear the bass and treble well, but not so with the Skullcandy. If you are looking for new buds, I recommend you keep searching and not purchase the Skullcandy Ink'd Earbuds.
